Win SAHM, Lose SAHM

So, in efforts not to be hooked on teleseryes that would ‘certify’ my status as true-blue housewife, i tried the other alternative - - - english tv series! (Well, at least .  . . )

So there’s The OC (thru Season 4), Desperate Housewives (thru S3), Grey’s Anatomy (S1 pa lang to give way to) Prison Break!

So the sole reason i’m awake (aside from updating my blog - - - kudos to my multi-tasking skills!!! ) is to hopefully see PB thru the end!!!! I’m officially hooked and on S1E16 palang with S2 DVD still waiting.

Ok, will tell more next blog.  This episode’s kinda heatin’ up!!!!   

Well, since i’m still technically ‘lookin’ after my princess patient, i still can’t move around the way i used to . . . meaning no marketing, meaning no  regular cooking!   So for dinner,  (i had wheat bread w/ butter and o. marmalade for lunch!) i had no choice but to tap the cannies.  So there, there’s corned beef with cabbage (yup, the other half from Sunday’s yasai itame!). 

Well, the corned beef brand wasn’t as tasty as the one we used to have, but, heck, it’s free grace - -  from our company christmas package !!!
 

Following my Princess’ fever and discomforts, we had her seen by good ‘old Dr. Sablan last Tuesday.  Swollen gums and tonsilitis they were.  No wonder she would have difficulty when trying to ‘latch on’ to me and give out a pained cry whenever she tries to swallow.

Well she’s getting better now.   And another good thing is she likes the amoxicillin!  Yup, she found the drug somehow amusing to taste.  So there, no struggles there!  

I am definitely worn out!  Alyssa’s fever has caused her to be  a clingy, irritable toddler so i had no choice but to carry her all the time.  And that is, after all efforts to ‘persuade’ have failed.  Then husband’s on a very hectic sched at work, so no help there.

So here I am, at the end of my day as a SAHM (which ends by the way between 10 to 11 pm), blogging away to ease the bodyaches and ’shaky’ hands.   

Nope, nope.  My in-laws are not grilling me!  We invited them over for dinner last Sunday, so as usual, i have to make an impression with my culinary skills!

So here’s the ‘killer’ menu:  chicken barbeque, satay sticks, yasai itame and java rice.  Too bad my fruity almond cocktail did not make it (well, the jello took longer to mold . . ).  The first 2 are grilled (there!) so i used a mini-grill that i got last christmas from a family friend.  (Side comment: the grill was ok, but it is electric takes a lot of batches to cook given the ‘mini’ size; so magastos sa koryente!!!)

Anyway, the verdict??  Daddy loved the y. itame; Mommy thought we bought the chicken already marinated and eventually asked for the marinade recipe! So that definitely means I SCORED!!!    

She has got a 38.5 deg C fever last Sunday night.  Possible cause??? - - i don’t know!  She doesn’t have any cough or colds.  Could it be the MMR vaccine she’s had last Saturday afternoon?  But the doc said, ‘no fever, only rashes, if ever’ (which she didn’t get, TG!).  Well, a friend said, it could be viral - - her daughter had a 3-day fever too last week.  So we’re just giving her paracetamol syrup - - - which she ABHORS and spews out every time we give her.

Haaay, let just all pray she gets better by tomorrow.

I’ve been wanting to do this for the longest time.  I just hope i’d be able to maintain this blog. 

Anyway, it’s almost the end of the day for working people . . . but for a SAHM, it’s just halfway. I’m glad i’ve been able to surf, or i wouldn’t be able to create this blog or even get to know great news about our Calipanga friends thru our egroup.  And i guess they’re getting-together to celebrate tonight.  Oh well, the O’s won’t be able to come of course.  So it’s gonna be HSH (Home, Sweet Home) for us then!!
